Make Your Wedding as Magical as Cinderella's

With the new Cinderella movie making its debut later this week, it seems like there are ball gowns, pumpkins and princes everywhere. If you've been drifting off to Storybook Land, here are a few ways you can make your big day a little more magical:

Pick the Perfect Dress

Imagine your own Fairy Godmother just appeared and dressed you in the most breathtaking gown you've ever laid eyes on. What does that dress look like? If a Cinderella style dress glides through your daydreams, you should be searching for a full ball gown style with large tulle skirt. Select a top that suits your body type and style. Go strapless with a sweetheart neckline, try an off-the-shoulder style or find something with delicate cap sleeves. For some modern day princess inspiration, you may want to take a look at real life princesses and their incredible gowns. Sadly, the tiara is not included.

Choose Your Own Glass Slippers

Thankfully Prince Charming has already found you! Now you get to pick out your own perfect pumps. Take a look at a few designers -- including Jimmy Choo, Charlotte Olympia and Stewart Weitzman -- who have reinterpreted those iconic glass slippers. Even if you don't follow Cinderella's style, your wedding is the perfect occasion to treat yourself to a pair of shoes that you will remember forever. The perfect pair of shoes will have you walking on air.

Add Touches of Fairytale Romance

Create an enchanting evening with whimsical details throughout your wedding. Layer fabrics like silks and lace and compliment the look with lush florals in creams and soft blush. Play with muted metallics and enhance the ambiance with glowing light and flickering candles. If you really want to bring the story to life, paint mini pumpkins in gold or silver to add whimsy to your tablescape, or sprinkle a bit of rough-cut glitter to represent fairy dust.

Lean on Your Friends

While you may not have singing birds and crafty mice to help you prepare for the wedding of your dreams, you do have a circle of loved ones willing to do anything to make sure your day is perfect. Whether they shower you, contribute skills like calligraphy or envelope stuffing, run interference with your in-laws or just listen, your girls (and guys!) are excited to play a part and will do anything to help so let them! Everyone else? Kill 'em with kindness.

Dance All Night

Surprise unsuspecting guests with a more formal orchestra (live or recorded!) and impress the crowd with an elegant first dance, fit for a prince and princess. Open the floor to all the guests and maybe even have ballroom dance instructors on-hand to teach the basics for those guests who are interested in a few toe-saving pointers. Make sure your band can switch it up so you can all boogie all night after a few sweeping passes across the ballroom.
