Christopher Wallace, Fugitive, Arrested After Posting Hiding Spot On Snapchat

A man wanted for burglary in central Maine avoided arrest until he revealed his super secret hiding spot on Snapchat.

Police in Somerset County had been searching for Christopher Wallace, 24, for his involvement in a January burglary of cooking equipment, the Associated Press reports.

Wallace allegedly stole a propane cook stove and a cast iron wood stove from a camp in Pierce Pond Township, the Bangor Daily News reports.

On Sunday, Wallace posted on Snapchat that he was back in his home in Fairfield. After tipsters relayed that info to police, authorities showed up looking for the fugitive.

They had no initial luck finding Wallace in his home. But then Wallace posted a second time on Snapchat saying that the police were in the house looking for him and he was hiding in a cabinet, according to CentralMaine.com.

A Facebook post by the Somerset County Sheriff's Department described the arrest:

“A search of the kitchen cabinets turned up some food, some pots and pans, and also a pair of feet. The pair of feet just so happened to be attached to a person, and that person was Christopher Wallace. He was removed from the cabinet and placed under arrest.”

Wallace was charged with burglary, theft and violation of conditions of release and taken into custody, according to MyFox8.com.

Police also arrested Erika Hall, 20, and charged her with hindering apprehension after she told officers that Wallace was not at the house and had not been around for weeks, the Bangor Daily News reports.
